Recollections of the rustic childhood gush out at times... the memories of flying kites on top of those hillocks... picking up cashew nuts... and eating cashew fruits... of different shapes, sizes, colours and taste... good old days!! Now they are researching new varieties of spices??? After causing extinction to some rare cashews and of course a lot of rare plants.

Couple of years back I went up to see what was happening up there and how IISR guys were preserving the indigenous flora and fauna up there.... the pleasant hideouts of us the village boys. Shame, I had to wait for half an hour to talk to someone and get permission to walk around.... to my despair... to see the devastation!!

Some 30+ years back... one afternoon I came back from Moozhikkal school to witness a weird creature dismantling our familiar 'idavazhi' up hill... For days on end I watched the machine bulldozing its way up...

Hi guys, we still have some green patches left around Pulikkil Masjid, Thurayi Kotta temple... please let it be there... No I heard they already done some damage. The good takewood trees are no more there in the Qabarstan.
